i wanna make my tail lights darker but i dont wanna use a spary tint to do it,

i've heard and see of people getting their tail lights tinted with a black film which makes it look completely black but the lights still shine through as normal?

is there such thing? or people just pulling my leg? haha

thanks guys.

The ones on my el where done before i got it but i believe they where pulled apart and sprayed from the inside which has given them a awsome finish as they still have the gloss of the plastic and still shine through 100%.

Its not the best photo but you get the idea.

yeah probly best just to spray them. cans are cheap yeah?

reckon i'd get pulled over a fair bit with them tinting?

also how good is the light that still shines through? just like normal?

I've done it to mine with a can of VHT Nightshade and a can of clear coat.

It is not completely black but around 60%

They do shine through as normal but if you go too dark they won't. That is when I would recommend switching to LED brake and indicator bulbs and you'll be sweet.

With one of the cars i tinted the taillights on, i pulled the lenses off and sprayed the inside instead, and it came up a million bucks. Looked heaps better, and still retained the normal gloss of the taillight.

Andrew.

cover inside of the lens with plastic fly sceen mesh and use black paint , you'll end up with small black squares but clear lines for the light to come through normally , old school but works

There is a guy in WA who is or was selling some on Ebaya few weeks ago and they are black and shiny I got him to do a spare set for Hazens car and when she uses her brakes or indicates you still see the colour of her lights it cost me $50 as I freighted them and Hazen picked them up when she was over there.

They look great on her dark ute.
