My door molds (bump strips) keep falling off....
Before I bite the bullet and GLUE the bastards on, does anyone have any other suggestions on how to keep them from doing this. I've used 3M and Motorquip double sided so called 'Exterior trim mounting' tape, but even though they both claim to be weather proof the second it gets wet it looses its stick. I'm getting tired of having to go back and pick up the molds from the side of the rd, being Fairmont wagon ones they're not exactly easy to find replacements for.

try cleaning the door and strip with prepsol or similar low grade thinners, sounds like its not sticking.

I have been. It's the tape itself.. gets wet and looses any adhesion.
They always seem to go in or after wet weather. The other day I lost the one on the drivers side rear, stopped and picked it up, had a look at the rest of them and the pass front one was letting go from the front top edge so I peeled it off and the tape was waterlogged and falling apart... just like the 3M stuff did. Am VERY tempted to glue them on and be done with it, problem being.. I'm screwed if I need to remove them for any reason in the future.
