Hey all! Planning big things for my EF GLi 4.0...namely a Turbo kit from Snort and a redone exterior. I'm planning to get a Venom front bumper with EL XR side skirts and rear skirt. I have a towbar however...will this affect the rear skirt installation (I really don't want to cut the skirt)

Also...I want to get a new paint job but I have absolutely no idea of a price range. The color I am goign for is a metallic cherry type color...I have attached an image of a * * Commodore in the color I want. My questions are...how much am I lookin at having to pay to get my car..which is in Biscayne Blue (Sky Blue metallic)..resprayed into this cherry color? I understand that price varies place to place...but if you can give me a price range, say give or take about $1000.

And also I live in Melbourne...so if their are any places you recommend that I could check out..that would be pretty neat too.

Cheers for everything!

Wow...$8000?? Really that much for the paint? I was hoping more along the lines of $2000-$4000. Do you know any workshops around Melbourne that I could check out and ask for a more accurate price?

The body kit will be about $500-600 for the XR bits from FTG and about $700 for the Venom.

A normal respray will set you back at least $2500. For a full respray, including doors, engine bay, and heaps of prep work, your looking at closer to $3500-4000.

As for a custom colour like that, your looking at the $6000-8000 mark, give or take a couple hundred or 1000.

And as Southy said, turbo kit... $6000-9000 depending on how much you do yourself.

I'd say more like $5000-$6000 for that paint job. More if you want the engine bay done too.

I got quoted for $6600 about a year and a half ago to get a full respray, all badges reaplaced, red door and bumper mouldings replaced and all window seals and door seals replaced. Plus all dings taken out.

So just a respray would be about $5000-$6000 for a colour change to that colour (damn nice colour on that VL too). I was respraying mine the same colour.

personally i think you're better off just going to a few painters and getting quotes.
take the photo and see what they have to say.
you're not really going to be able to get an accurate quote from us since we ainr doin the work :P

yeah just get some quotes mate but for a good job id say round 6K but u can minus from 1-1.5K if u choose to forget the engine bay thats one of the biggies.

You can get most places to do 'an alright' job for 4K it wont peel or anything bad like that but sometimes there are slight ripples etc...

That colour is a candy so that will add a couple of grand on top of a normal respray.
