think this should go here, I'm seriously looknig at modding functional shaker onto the EF, but before I spend the cash, does anyone know the rules regarding stuff sticking out of the bonnet, hieght etc, is there a publication I can reference, I'd call the RTA but they are shut on sunday and it's in my head to find out now.

I'm on it, plans are under way, looks like I'll be going a mustang cdc kit from the states, will need a bit of conversion but all the parts are there that I need, I have emailed the Oz shaker mob for prices on just the shaker without the pipes or filter, but I reckon they've got there head up there a*** with pricing and won't consider just selling components, I was quoted $1800 just for the kit , a bit steep considering theres the bonnet work to be done as well, the cdc kit will come in around that fully fitted, and a bit of airseeder hose works a treat from the shaker to the airbox, who needs a fancy round airfilter.

I know it won't gain me any horses, but I just want the cool right foot rocky thing sticking out the bonnet and an induction air sound when I depress said foot as well.

but before I spend the folding I need to know the legal bits.

externally it will be similar, I'm going for more of hte BA look with the back topside of the shaker pretty much level with bonnet and the front sitting up nicely exposing the intake hole.

under the bonnet it will be totally different. with custom piping from the base of the shaker across to the airbox, then as normal from there, unless I can use a filter directly under the shaker and a shorter pipe around to the throttle via the MAF, problem I see it the filter getting soaked when it rains, but I'm figuring that out as well.

I wouldnt worry to much about the rain. Im using a finer filter in mine and havent had any troubles. I do make the exception of covering the scoop when the car is not running out in the rain though.

well looks like the hardest part is finding an engineer willing to sign off on the job, has to be approved prior to commencement apparently, no point in doing it to have it fail.

now I have the problem of saving the cash to get my kit from the states, it's gonna happen, and I hope before X-mas
