i dont think it is in the engine bay, its in the fuse box under the steering wheel...can anyone confirm this?

i had the headlights go out while i was driving home one night high beam worked but not low beam checked all the relays under the bonnet and found one had come loose maybe check that you havent blown one

Correct, fusebox - stop lamps 15A. Power is drawn from the IGN fusible link, but if that's blown you won't have indicators or hazard lights for example.

ok guys i took off the two wires that plug into the brake switch and connected them together and the brake lights came on. does this mean the switch is faulty?

That or its not fitted correctly.

Yes, or when you installed the switch you didn't fit it properly. (missed it by that much . . . . :P )

well its still not working so i drew up a quik diagram to check if i'm putting it together correctly

Honestly can't remember how a brake switch works but can you connect it without fitting and depress it with your finger to see if it works. then at least youd know if it was a fitting issue or a switch issue... pretty picture 2!!

lol thnx...took switch out and pressed it and it works so it has to be a fitting issue...thnx for the idea

ok so after 3 days its finally fixed...just got back from repco where i bought an s60 switch, put it in, and all is good. seems the switch i got from repco was the wrong one and wasnt making connection properly. thanks to everyone for their help
