To me nothing. But, I'd probably suggest $500 absolute max. I'm very surprised it sold the first time for what it did.

is there any where you would suggest looking for a very clean EL rolling shell?? or are wreckers the best place?

Depends on exactly what you're after, but you'd be surprised at how cheap EL gli/Futura's are at auction - even complete in fairly good nick.

OH and another thing............. not as if building it up as aN EL GT is going to help.. it would have 0 km on the clock... but the EL GT"S are not nearly as desireable as the XR/XY GT"S of the 60's...

There was a time when the old GTs wern't selling for that much either.
and i will argue..

*xr/xy GT's were very close to the V8 race cars.. "win on sunday..sell on monday"... -unlike EL GT's.. nothing like an EL V8 supercar..

*60's muscle is very popular nomatter the brand.. Ford/Holden/chrysler...

*XR/XY GT's were very desireable in the looks department.. EL GT's look like "darth vadar" crossed with a kettle"... -basically the looks were either "hate it or love it".....

*XR/XY GT's were a "Bruiser".. EL GT"s were more of a "luxary tourer" and was fairlay tame compared with the hypo hodens at the time... (remembers back to the black and yellow GTSVS commodore"...

The old GT's XR to XB didn't take off in price till the mid to late '90's. Rare holdens of the same era weren't much better price wise.

There was people that wanted them but they weren't paying silly money for them.

only reason you would bother buying it is if you wanted andd ef track car (either for drags or anything).....but i wouldnt pay more than $300 (if there's no rust and its completely straight
