Whaddya reckon?? its a sexy bonnet and looks hot as but the pain it just effed right up

The fella that painted it for me got his paint rep in and had a look at it and u can see the small bubbles in the fibreglass it just seems ridiculous that I bought this bonnet which was supposed to be ready to rumble and now its ruined. He is gunna bake it and stuff and repaint it for half price but can't promise it won't happen again.. I am using my phone to do this at the moment I will be online on my computer tomoro arvo I can defo put up some pics of it for you to check out.

I don't think release agent should be an issue. I have a full fibreglass race kit on my race bike with the bottom fairing touching the exhaust and none of my paints have bubbled...and I just paint with a spray can.

Also if there still is residual release agent that caused the issue, then obviously the person who painted it didn't give the surface a good clean before painting.

Which bonnet are you running? Is it the Kurnell Kustoms one?

had a similar issue with glass on a boat, depends if the bonnet was FRESH made out of a mould or not, the paint rep may be talking s**t to try and get out of supplying the paint to the shop to redo it.

BUT,

Any decent paint shop hould know the ins and outs of painting stuff like glass, push your case, if they keep refusing to budge, it may be worth a call to fairtrading for more weight behind your claim. But do some research too and see if there is much truth behind the reps claims.

I have tried to contact the guys that sold it to me n they don't reply to my emails n they don't reckon its their poor quality fibreglass or anything but the painter is a decent guy who my brother hooked me up with who is a proper nrma smash repairer fella so I dunno anymore... I am tryin to sell the xr6 n get an xr8 or GT anyways lol so I dunno whether to make a big deal with the bonnet or scrap it, put the original back on n sell up
