Write this down as it's hard to remember, it's called Plastic Primer - I don't know how they got such a wierd unrelated name... Most if not all of the Falcon bumpers are made from plastic, and clearly most Falcons come from the factory with painted bumpers... |

hi,im a panel beater-spraypainter. yes you can paint over plastics. plastic primer is available from most auto paint stores, you can get it in 1L (around $25) 4L (around $80) or pressure pack (around $20)for smaller jobs (would easily do a bumper) the pressure pack cans made by k&h have a clear primer in it. bigger sizes usually are either grey or black.when painting straight colours (non metallics) you dont need a clear topcoat, but it can be used . adding clear to a base colour can sometimes darken the body colour tough. i use a lot of the k&h brand, what part of adelaide are you from?

hi, i think the closest auto paint store to you would be tor wholesalers at edwardstown( in phone book). they have a large range of auto paints etc etc and can offer any advice you need. when youve done your repairs/sanding and are ready to prime the plastic, prep with metho to make the surface antistatic. simply spray on 2-3 light coats of primer and after 10 mins you are ready to paint, you do not need to rub back the primer(paint straight over) if you are ever stuck just pm me. craig

i used Debeer plastic primer (1-60) for the front bumper on my previous ea and its was a good base for spraying acrylic monza red. it should be available from most auto paint outlets, paid $23 for a 1 litre can.
