One person said get them aftermarket. That person was corrected that there is no aftermarket cornering lamps.
Then you said get aftermarket, and were also corrected. Then another few posts down someone else said get aftermarket. And you wonder why this type of response comes about. If people read what had been typed before them and took a moment to think about what was written, this could be avoided. |

There are these aftermarket ones. Not exactly the same but say they will fit the factory pre-cut holes.

Cornering lights to most would mean indicators, hell this ebay page comes up with heaps of " corner lights", all indicators. http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_trks ... &_from=R40 Corner lights = Lights located at the corner of the car. Cornering lights = Lights that light up when you indicate. The only people to call them fog lights are the people that don't know what they are. Check out the link posted by Cobra http://blinglights.com/FORD-FAIRLANE-NL ... 95164.aspx. They call them driving lights or fog lights...... they too must not know what they are called..... |

They clearly don't.
Just like people advertising parts for NU Fairlanes. (No such thing, Ford dropped the different naming at AU. It's just an AU Fairlane) *Edit* Those lights would look anything but OEM. I'd be leaning towards crap. I could make a torch fit in the hole, doesn't mean it will look good. |

I didn't say they were OEM I actually said they are not the same. I was just giving the original poster some options. |

Fog light or driving light, is dependant on the shape of the beam.
Fog light = short, flat and wide. Driving light = long, round(ish) and narrow (pencil beam is narrower again) Colour means very little, but many cars did use yellow filters for fog lights. My guess is it would be due to yellower colour not hurting your eyes as much when it's reflected off the fog. I don't know about EB GT, but the I know EL GT were driving lights and only came on with high beam. They didn't have a separate switch. |

I do stand corrected with the EL GT. Old style Fog Light used to be yellow, Ford now call the Lights on BA/BF/FG XR's Fog Lights. Cornering lights were an option on the EL and maybe on the EFII. |

Hi,
Whatever they are called, they are still a Fog type of light. In general terms there are 3 types of light. Long range, no ribs on the lens. You can see skippy from 2 K away. Intermediate has a few ribs, and gives more spread and less distance. You can see skippy on the edge of the road. Now a Fog type of light has lots of ribs, to spread the light. Normally they are mounted low, as the idea is the light will go under the fog. They used to be yellow, because it was thought that the light penetrated the Fog better. But that was not found to be the case. ( Like the earth is flat ) They put some sodium or something in the globes at one stage to make the light yellow, but stopped for recycling reasons or something like that. If you don't need Fog lights, you could cut out a hole and fit some small driving lights in the place. As you are going to do a cut and shut, you will have to paint it anyway. Some tube around the light will make it look tidy, but being low will get lots of rocks so make sure there are plenty of spares. Now this is where we get tricky, if you have them " cross-eyed " you will have better vision around corners with highway driving. This goes back to Rally days with 2 sets of lights. The big ones above the bar where for the distance, and the smaller set under helped see around corners. A cover ( clear ) tends to make the lights run hot, and blocks a lot of light when it gets dirty. This is from memory, so I would prefer to be corrected rather than flamed.

If you want to fit fog lights, driving lights, or whatever - Go to PICK-A-PART or whatever it is and buy a complete front bumper from a Subaru with lights already installed.
Then pick up phone and dial "044HELPMESWC" to install. |
