hey matt whats goin on? just curious.... what is the best product to use to clean and condition leather seats??? i pulled my seats out of the fairmont last weekend and iv been cleanin flat out since then but cant seem to get all the grim and shine out of the seats.

im slowly but surly getting the leather a little bit softer, but is there any possible way to get it soft fast? or is it just bad luck cos the people who bought the car from new never considered conditioning the leather?

Lots mate, lots

I am a fan and user of four star ultimate leather cleaner gel and their conditioner gel plus einszett lederpledge and effax leather balsam and lederpledge oil

However if you cannot get it as soft and clean as I want due to bad neglect then leatherique is required

I don't have it yet but have contacted the guy who sells it

Quick tip

Those with metallic paint on their pride and joy, it's best to use acrylic or polymer sealants and do not polish it with one that has fillers in it (many do)

Also do not wax it as the wax or fillers will mute and hide the metallic. No big deal most time but if your a regular at shows, you want the metallic to be popping out at ya

Those with solid colours, sealants and then wax is fine as the wax will provide more depth to the paint

Well I have been real busy working on cars and my own and have some pics for you guys to look at

Refined the paint on my AU in the last few days with a new product called Prime Acrylic
It is a chemical polish with no abrasives that cleans the clearcoat, levels the paint and sharpens it so reflections are not so peely/wavey

Holy jesus that paint looks perfect for lack of a better word.

There is so much information in this thread I was wondering if you could simplify it for me.
I currently use Meguiars 3 step cleaner, polish and gold class carnuba wax.
While I get a finish that looks great, great doesnt cut it.
I am after the products that you use personally but not all of them (you really use them all).

I require a washing product.
Cloths to use for washing and drying.

Paint protection/wet look/shining products. Minimum of 3 products (for cleaning, polishing and sealing).
Doesnt matter if I have to do repeat coats to get that better than factory look.
Cloths/pads to apply/remove.

Also an interior cleaner for leather. I have a set of EF Fairmont seats with leather and velour that are quite dirty and want to bring the leather back to new.

Another product for cleaning/protecting the plastic on the outside like the red door mouldings and window seals etc.

Thanks.

BTW its for a Heritage Green EL XR8.

OK I will simplify for you

Wash - prima mystique shampoo/conditioner $24.00
Wash media - eurow or sonus wash mitts (microfibre) $14 - 17 each
Drying - pakshak waffle weave microfibre drying towels x 2 $46.00
Polish - prima swirl polish 473ml $27.00 (what I did my car with)
Wet look - clearkote vanilla moose 473ml $20.00
Sealant - jeffs werkstatt acrylic jett 500ml $33.00
(use this spray on, wipe off stuff on paint, glass, wheels and exterior trim)
Wax (optional) Jeffs werkstatt carnauba jett $31.00
(use in same way)

Tyres (optional) Sonus Tire & bumper gel (silicone and petroleum free)
Cloths - pakshak ultra smooth x 1 $14.00
- detailers paradise monster fluffy $21.00

Have you clayed your paint, glass and wheels before.
If not, you will need to do this.

I have sonus ultra fine clay bars (2 sealed bars in a storage case) $37.00

Once you have detailed the car with this, just wash it carefully as per my instructions and use acrylic jett or carnauba jett to quick detail the surfaces and your laughing for many years
One bottle of acrylic jett will provide twenty coats approx of sealant to the paint.

No other sealant on the planet right now that can match this stuff
It won't wash or burn off

Some of these fine productsand more, I posted off to craig and nat lowndes on friday.
I am looking forward to his comments on them

Hmm yes. That is a lot of work to get it like the blue on the AU in the picture. I thought me spending 8 hours was heaps but I have a lot of work ahead of me.
Might have to take a week off.
