Howdy mate, great to help out

Give the beast a wash, then rinse the suds off
Then cover one panel at a time with shampoo and use the clay.
Rinse off the shampoo and move to the next panel

Once the whole car is done, dry it with microfibre (best option) and then wax it

Just remember that wax is not going to enhance the finish, only protect it.

If it needs polishing, then do it but do not use anything too strong.
It is all about prep, you do the polish prep (one to five steps) then seal or wax it and you will have a magnificent finish

Aurora,

This thread is fantastic.

Do you have a recommendation for a protectant to use on the dashboard?

I have some Meguiar Gold Class Dash & Trim Foam and have done a small test on the passengers side, but am worried it will be too shiny and relfect onto the windscreen especially on really sunny days.

True but it can be shinier than you have it at the moment.

Hi,

I had a respray of my fairlane done by a mate of mine. Jobe came out quite good, but there are a few settlements of dust on a few places. I was told to do a cut polish on it.

What would the best way be to get about this? I have a electric buff at home.
Can anyone tell me what products i need to use and what pads etc?

Thanks,

Hi, I used the clay a couple of weeks ago, it worked great, I washed the car first and it was amazing just how much crap came off after using the clay, mainly the driver door. My paint now feels beautiful.

Thanks
Ben

A 1000 to 1500 grit compound and 2000, 2500 and possibly 3000 grit polishes to finish off
If this doesn't do it, may have to sand it or get painter to fix it

yes I have a few
I will need to know what your preference is
Matte or satin. Obviously you don't like glossy

Many are oil/petroleum based protectants. A water based petroleum free one is best.

Prima Nero, Einszett plastic reiniger & tiefenpledger
Easy to apply and remove.

Unsure, I'm not a painter so cannot say.
Although it may be easier to do now before the paint cures
P.S. Quit my job today, to focus on the business 100% so this means more tips, faster replies to your emails and quicker posting of orders to you guys

Cutting down on products

It's a good idea to cut out any products you do not need

Instead of using window cleaner of any type, use a quick detail spray to do them instead
These dry quickly and with a quick wipe with an MF towel, your glass will be sparkling and protected.

Wheel cleaner is also no longer required, as long as you wash them weekly or better still, clay them, polish and seal them with any polymer or acrylic paint sealant.
