Please make it one - the other one is too long now and it's always good to start with a fresh slate now and then

Tried the quick detailer. I didn't think much of quick detailers until this driven one. Wasn't all watery like i thought it was going to be.
Need that part number of the bosch orbital buffer and the pads you use to buff with. Do you use the orbital to but stuff on with or take it off or both? Cheers Pete Waiting for a weekend of nothing to do so I can spend all weekend doing the car. Next weekend the wheels are coming off for an all over werkstatt coating. 3 coats will do it and that should keep the carbon build up away for a while. |

Hi Timmeh
So your happy with the Driven If your still umming and arrghhing, remember that if you get the right technique down, it will deliver far better results Technique is king Now with orbitals., I apply and remove product with them Bosch (PEX400AE) Not the best machine in the world for a pro but damn awesome for the price and for enthusiasts The pads I use are 4, 5 1/2 and 6.5 inch lake country foamed wool and CCS foam (7 grades to choose from) You can source them quickly via ZAS.com.au or Waxit.com.au We will have stock of them to sell in the near future Still setting up the Glowriders online shop and business setup

Had a look at Zas.com.au
I've got swirls in the paint at the moment so I think a mild cut white one and a no cut polish only red one or finess black css pad? Not sure which to go for. Might get one mild pack and one no cut pack. How long do they last? |

Wasn't all watery like i thought it was going to be. driven detail is made to be diluted pete, will make 2-4 ltrs,i use a 2-1 mix on the paint,4-1 mix for glass cleaner and a bit in the polish, makes the bottle work hard, just measure small quantities and break it up in different mixes,on the 2nd bottle now

yeah I made it into a 8-1 mix and it wasn't watery at all. Easy to spray on and worked awesomely.
Although at the moment I need to clay again cause I can feel a bit of grit bonded to the paint. So I want to get the orbital and do a bloody good job. |

Easy to spray on and worked awesomely. if you have the time spend 1-2 hrs on each panel, they will get glass smooth and the paint cleans up and becomes like new,i spent 4 hrs on each panel-the clear coat wasnt polished for years and had uv oxide.when i bought the car i thought the colour was brown, after 1 hr it changed to gunmetal grey, the more i clayed, the cleaner and deeper the colour, and super glass smooth----cant believe how smooth it got.i did 1 panel after work each day,so it wasnt boring and the only spare time i had,i spoke to matt about it and he also has change his times,he now spends up to 4 hrs on a car with the clay bar,we all learn of each other and thats good, the winner is our cars.check out some of matts latest work, its amazing what he can do with what he has to start with.

Might get one mild pack and one no cut pack. How long do they last? If you wash them regularly and don't let them clog up with polish, they will last for years and years I have some that are five years old and still good Also as they get older, the finessing pads (black, blue, white and red) get softer so they will spread glazes, polishes and driven quick spray around easier and give you easier work with the machine One word of warning though - we have noticed some velcro backing on the pads being burnt through and thinned out with our festool orbital due to heat being focused between the backing plate and the pad Eventually the pad will not stick to the plate. We can source special lake country pads for orbital use only that have a stronger velcro system than regular pads email joseph at driandshine.com.au and ask him about this problem he is the one that cops it the most http://www.lakecountrymfg.com/foampads_ccs_dafoam.html

Sorry about the (for some reason) poorer quality video (damn you tube) Here is the end result of the polishing on the statesman Even under sodium vapour lights, it looks flawless Process G Techniq P1 (takes half as much clear out as other compounds) Hi Temp Extreme Power Cut Prima Swirl menzerna 106FF menzerna 85RD(finishing polishes) Prima Amigo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOpKYGHJp1Y http://s110.photobucket.com/albums/n106/DreamMachines/

while working on the front brakes today,i removed the plastic inner guard covers and found hand fulls of dirt and leaf debriss, packed against the guard filler,i thought there was still a gap behind it,so i removed it as well, and sure as hell more dirt and leaf debriss, this lot lies on top of the sill and the gap at bottom of the guard,it gets there from the windscreen and plenum cover and drains thru the guards,note----i glue flyscreen mesh under the slots to keep the big stuff out----dont like rubbish out of my air ducts with the airconditioner, these 2 spots are a major rust area,i have checked a few cars at the wreckers and it rusts the sill ends out and part of the floor,i have seen this on the x series and earlier,so have a look.ill be painting and sealing mine in the next few days, cheers
