{USERNAME} wrote: My first article for Australiasian Paint and Panel Magazine http://www.paintandpanel.com.au/news/th ... ect-finish That's a great article Matt and no doubt helpful for professionals as well as enthusiasts out there. Congrats on publishing this mate. Well done. On a side note, how long should one wait to apply sealants to a fresh painted panel or car part? I got my spoiler painted up over the weekend professionally and the finish is amazing, but I want to seal it nicely by hand, but don't want to do this too soon in case the paint isn't cured well enough yet. Let me know what you think mate.

Let me know what you think mate. That is just the first of many, the next one should go in the new issue of the magazine RE: your spoiler, with solvent based paints I'd say wait a month to let the solvents outgas if water based paint, perhaps a few weeks. there is no one answer to this as I find it depends on what type and brand of paint and low or high solids low solvent. and mate I highly recommend you try some Permanon supershine aerospace edition on that spoiler Its natural silica quartz coating in a spray on wipe off or spray on buff in form and will protect and enhance paint gloss alot I have to order some next week so once that arrives, I'll leave you a little bit. Its dilutable too which is good and works on all surfaces of a car hooray a positive comment about my article "" Excellent article, some very good information there which can help so many people. Thanks for the feedback mate. Im not 100% sure what paint was used so I will err on the side of caution and wait a month to be safe and then try that new product of yours. Sounds superb. I gotta get out your way and at least say hello. Work has been busy as you know, but we gotta make time for friends.
