What happens if you do not wash your car for a while (build up of grime, dust etc)
(1) Will it damage the paint? (2) And will it be washable at a later point in time - or will the grime/dust etc permanently damage the paintwork?

I use detergent and warm Water with soft bristle brush to clean the car, then rinse, then cloth wipe down. and haven't seen any bad side effects on any of our household cars.

Washing you car saves the paint work.
Bird s**t, Sap, Road grime etc also eats the paint. Really how hard is it to chuck some warm soapy water over and quick hit with a sponge and hose off and Chamy off. falcon1999 wrote: Detergent and water - will that do? or would that damage the paintwork? Nah won't hurt just makes a job half a***.

i rarely wash my car due to working away, parked under a gay tree with its gay sap dripping all the time. but when i do wash it at the local brushless car wash it comes up good as gold. only needs a few touch ups with the polish here and there that i cbf'd doing.
