Hey guys,
Im getting a new bootlid for my car because mine is dinged to the s**t from some prick breaking into it, what i want to know is how do I go about changing the locks etc? My lock is shagged so should I just replace it with a new lock from *fraud* or should I just take the new lock out and plate over it using minimal bog and don't worry about a new bootlock? What do you's think? Because my key etc wont unlock the new lock on the boot.. and my old ones shagged, what do i do? Cheeers |

You could go keyless - have a hidden manual boot release and blank off the lock cylinder. Then open the boot normally via keyfob or dash release.
You could then remove the front driver and front passenger door key cylinders, get an EL front passenger side handle and blank off the driver side handle. Optionally - get the EL passenger side front handle, remove the lock cylinder, and use it in the new bootlid . . . BTW, I noticed Friday before last that the EL Fairmont you got the interior out of still has the Fairmont garnish on the bootlid - might be your replacement ??????

Yeah, I think I might just go keyless for the boot, that sounds like the best idea, and I can just use the keyfob or manuel boot release.. that sounds like a plan!

you could get a locksmith to code the new lock to your old key
