I know that all EFs and most ELs had the chassis number printer on a security sticker on all doors, bonnet, quarter panels and boot but when exactly did they stop putting them on there?
I've seen a few ELs that have not had any chassis number stickers on panels anywhere. All EFs I have seen have had them or supposed to of had them.

I am fairly sure that Ford stopped the security stickers sometime in late '97, probably when they released the series 2 EL's I guess.

I don't think that my FBT has them, which was built in '98, I will have to check this next time I see it.

ive noticed that most EL's dont have the stickers fitted to them ,
other reasons could be that the car may have has some paint work and panel replacment aswell

Ford (and Holden) are only using smartdots (aka datadots) on the high end FPV/HSV as far as I know.

There is no series two EL, it was only an update. If you look at the build plates it still says EL.
EFII says EFII on the plates and they have different body numbers.

I believe most here just say EL 2 because its easier than saying updated EL 2. Its not correct but you know what we mean when we say EL 2.

Yeah I know that there was no EL series 2 officially released. Just seems around late '97 Ford made quite a few changes to the EL and most people seem to call it a series 2 regardless.
