When I put on my moulds and chrome strip on my doors. I looked around a few places and couldn't find any non genuine chrome strips that would fit. So I got the proper ones from Ford. Overall cost for the four doors was $220. So you will be looking around twice that price to do the whole car.

f**k paying over $200 for bloody chrome strips, I'll rather paint them chrome a few times, would still be cheaper in the long run!!

I'm quite sure you can buy chrome stripping from somewhere, but that stuff mentioned by dawg1000 sounds like it'll be much the same s**t.

Go team!

I got some for the BA bar I'm putting on the front of my thing but they seem pretty universal http://cgi.ebay.com.au/FORD-FALCON-BA-BF-BUMPER-CHROME-STRIP-INSERTS_W0QQitemZ280032790956QQihZ018QQcategoryZ21654QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I reckon a bit cheaper then Ford probably want.. :D

You can buy those chrome strips in a roll from shops like Autobarn, Bursons etc. Take a sample in and get the right size. I replaced them on a XF ghia years ago, this way. Your NL ones are the same, even down the sides.

the front moulds are one piece. the chrome is part of the moulding.
thats why they are so expensive.

Not on a NL which has the fairmont mouldings, the chrome sits in a channel with the ends tucked in.

like what people say... um the factory chrome strips are one peice with the mould and are flush with each other... buying just the chrome and adding it on is an ok idea.. but wont be flush and the thikness of the plastic chrome will be sticking out.

would not get the chrome and mould from ford.. they want around 180 for the front bumper and 200 and something for the rear bumper..

You really need to have another look at your moulds. They are not one piece with the mould. They are doublesided taped inside a groove with the ends tucked in. If I still had my 'L i'd prove it to you. Earlier models NA-NC they were one piece.
So you can replace the chrome strip as I have posted earlier.
