just wondering if you can go anywhere to replace the chrome stripeing around the car?? mine is looking a bit taddy and i want to replace them.

I dont mind if it doesnt actually look the same, but just something similar..

I have read that you can remove them, and try and paint them. But from what i have read they dont turn out the best when you try and paint them the chrome colour.

any suggestions on what i could do, or anyone suggest where i can take it to get some new strips put in??

cheers

BEN

I went to a spraypainter to get a quote to redo my car and he said that when they do it, all badges and everything on the outside comes off and gets replaced with new gear, so maybe a spraypainter might be able to fix that up for you?

cheers leroy, that would be appreciated.

I hope it is not anywhere near $750!! that is just insane!

If it is near that price range i will be going to hunt around at spray painters as suggested.

take em off, sand them back, and paint em yourself, buying them from ford is a just plain theivery on their behalf.

I remember when I made a model car kit of a mustang, one of the paints I used for the exhaust was a shiny chrome colour, just go to one of those art craft stores and ask for the colour. Not sure how weatherproof they are so maybe even seeing a car paint specialist or something would work or even coating it with some protective coating.

You can buy the chrome strips from somewhere, I had woodgrain ones a while back.
They come with the end bits & everything.
Don't paint them, if anything, you'll need to get them chrome dipped, as just painting them is crap, the paint will peel & flake off once you hit a fly!

Have a lood around, if you find them, give us a shout, I'm in need of some of them as well!!

Could try Repco or something like that.....
