the outer surround of the ef fairmont ghia is metal ands the inner is plastic i have stripped the black paint off mine and its chrome underneath looks heaps betta. the inner can be seperated from the outer so u can get an el grile souround and put the ef inner in it.. i have been looking at doing this fro ages but i keep needing to spend money on other things.

everyone knows it a metal, its alloy, not chrome. still requires alot of work to get it to mirror finish unless you get it anodized. if you just polish it it oxidizes with any moisture in the air and looks crap, i should know, i did it.

Well that looks good, but I don't have the tools and/or know how to do a job like that. I don't even have the tools to get the grill off the car! lol.

ok, so i have found out that anodising is not an option with cast alloy as its such a poor quality, chroming hopwever is possible but i got quoted $220 just to do the surround itself.

not worth it in my opinion, so i'll just keep polishing it.

Well Ozeparts sell the EL grill (complete) for $280, so if I found a EF grill cheap I'd pay $220 to get it chromed. But alas, costs coming out of my ears at the moment (rego, tyres (one illegal atm), cable bill, health insurance coming up, etc. etc.).
