K guys, I'm seriously considering chroming the grill surround on my Fairmont grill, like some of the EF Fairmont Ghia grills had. How would one go about getting that chrome look on my grill surround?

Cant you get a chrome paint??????
I have seen something like it at autobarn.
But yeah its probably easier to buy the complete grille, rather then doing it yourself.

www.ozeparts.com.au

a complete EL Ghia grille is $280

i daresay the prep and chroming costs to get your original grille done would exceed that

Are you talking about having a chrome grille that is the same as on the Fairmonts and Ghias (not body coloured) or are you talking about getting an entirely new grill that happens to be chrome?

Because as I understand it, you can buff back the factory fairmont grill and it is chrome (metal anyway) under the paint. Pretty sure someone on here has done it, or maybe it was FM1??

As nice as they are, i hope to god your joking; pretty harsh as they cant be gotten from ford anymore so im told..
Whats the price/condition of it - try n get some pics/info for us, there are many members who would love to own one, n they arent easy to find, spread the word.

PS: if i see anyone going for 'my' grill i will face slam them into my towbar, LOL!
