A couple of months back I hit a roo that jumped out in front of me in my 1994 ED Fairmont, It smashed the front in. After lots of procrastination I finally went to some wreckers and found some people in the Quokka Classefieds and searched eBay and found most of the parts I needed. The radiator support pannel was f**k so I bought a new one from a wrecker, and after hours of drilling through spot welds with a blunt drill bit it came free. What I want to know is if you guys reckon I should bolt the new radiator support panels in, as bolts are stronger than spot welds and it would make accesing the engine in future much easier. Also what is a Radiator Fan worth?

nah, just weld it in had a similar amount of damage to one of mums cars (she rear ended a trayback ute with a big towbar) had to cut and replace the rad panel cos it was bent, i welded it back in in the spots id drilled out and in a few other places that looked good to me. its been back on the road for about 6 months now with no problems

Who told you bolts are stronger than welds?

spot welds are week as piss, i broke sum with my hands wen pullin the broken rsp out

You'd be surprised at the strenght of spot welds mate. We had a challenge at school where we had 2 sheets spotweld together and we had to break the weld without tearing the metal, using whatever we could, needless to say noone could do it.

if u plan on pullin the radiator suport panels off again yeah but hey spot weld is just as good.
