Hey guys, im currently in the market for an ef/el and have noticed alot of the darker coloured cars have the clear coat peeling.
Im just wondering if its possible to get rid of it somehow withOUT respraying? could maybe a detailer or a really good buffing job get it all out ? thanks. |

hi,im a spraypainter. ive have to repair lots of cars with this problem,is usually caused when the painter doesnt let the base coat (usually metallics) dry fully before clear coating, creates a layer of basecoat thinners trying to evaporate under the clear, eventually dries and the clear only just holds the paint underneath. chip it and the problem starts. fix is rub back and respray,at approx $250 a panel. some cars have been so bad i blew the 95percent of the clear off the whole car with compressed air
