hey guys,
got 2 parts to this post,

1) i just got back from Ferntree Gully Auto Salvage.
i got some clear front blinkers for $35 a pair :) (without globes)

i then went to autobarn next door and got some "Narva Phantom amber indicators" the writing on the packet says "12V 21W BAU15s"

are they the correct ones?

2) im after clear SIDE indicators now to get the whole "clear blinker look", do i get some AU1 Fairmont blinkers? cause iv heard if i get AUIII ones i would need a globe
do i just order them from a ford factory? thanks

thanks
-Daniel

I have no idea what you are buying for the first question... explain.

As for 2)... you need au series III because au series 1 had amber side indicators.., the problem with the AU ones, is they only fit the other way around without chopping or shaving s**t down... so yeah.. buy AU series 3 clear side indicators from ford... and when you see that they can't fit, turn them around, and be like the others lol

Cheers

well my first question is are they the correct bulbs i bought? cause atm i have clear bulbs with amber lens (standard), now that i have clear lens to put in, i cant use the clear bulb, thus i had to buy those amber ones.

no,
AU1 fairmonts had clear.
Afaik all AU2 had orange.
And all AU3 had clear.

However, ask for AU3 indicators because the AU1 fairmont ones are clear but they look foggy compared to the AU3 ones.

ok - thought so... basically, with amber globes, 12V is a good start, but I would just buy the bulbs from ford personally. But if not, get the old bulbs, and have a look at the specs on that, they might have been higher than 12 volts to allow for voltage changes, or 14.4V. As for wattage, get the ones of your old light bulb, and get a slightly higher power rating, since there is a layer of amber on the globe. Don't go too high, might do damage.

Cheers, and good luck

ok thanks

so the options for the side ones are:
-AU1 Fairmont
-AU3 Any model

does the AU3 ones require more effort to install? (like cutting and crap)

Don't buy from Ford, buy from here www.ozeparts.com.au

Genuine Ford but cheaper than Ford dealership prices, you can't go wrong.

AU1 Fairmont and all AU3 are the same shape, same amount of effort to fit.

that's not that bad, considering they are brand new and genuine. Someone on here was selling already modified clear side repeaters FYI for the same or lower price, can't remember though... anyone?

anyway, they fitted no prob instead of the E series ones.

Cheers
