that is a much cheaper option eh...

Would you recomend it?

Also - would you aggree the $70 is a bit steep?

I guess it will be a better fit....

No I wouldnt, I'm going to get some moulds to fit. When I bought the indicators I didnt realise there was a difference. What I've done is just temporary. You can see how they dont fit.

Also because of the clips it looks like its on an angle, but you cant get it to straighten up, lol

Cheers nomad - I rekon im gonna go the $70.00 option.
Its a little dear - But for a straight swap - easy fit, should be worth it.

Thanks for the advise / help

Yeah thats what NF's and NL's are, but if you have an EF then you need new moulds.

I know its been asked heaps, but im a bit confused with all the replies.
My deal is Ive got a 98 XH Series 2 XR6 Ute (same as EL series?)
Can I do a straight swap with a 95/96 model Fairlane with the clear side indicators.
If possible, has anyone got any pics to show

basically you have 3 options

1. buy the NF/NL side moulds and lenses, and fit those (cost unknown.. depends on the wrecker and if they need painting etc)

2. buy the straight swap replacement lenses from that email for $70 total. The neat and pretty option, exact replica but in clear not orange. (price includes p&h and amber globes)

3. graft AU clear lenses on, again depends on what the wrecker or FoMoCo wants to charge you (which leaves a gap above or below because it doesnt cover the hole in your side guard properly)

Personally I thought it was a pretty simple choice.

G'day all,
just to clear up any confusion, In short, I couldn't get the ef/el side repeaters for one of my xr8s so I had them made. somehow I ended up being the contact point for the manufacturer.
anyway, yes the lenses are identical to the ef/el model albeit with a
clear lense / amber globes. essentially the only difference is the rear 'v'
clip has been deleted and fixing is via a 3m adhesive foam tape. you cannot see this difference and it is more secure - not to mention harder to pinch, as some people have found out. there is no need to get the moulded shroud to fit as some people do with the fairlane item retrofit. I still don't know why people fit the AU ones. they are extremely hard to get but I currently have a few pairs in stock.
I don't set the price and yes they cost more then standard ones but that's the price you pay for individuality not to mention that they are manufactured here in OZ and not on mass in Taiwan. they are $65 + $5 postage and handling, this includes amber globes ready to bolt in. installation takes 5mins. email me should you be interested, thanks.

thanks for that, the items are pretty hard to get as the manufacturer likes to make them in 10 pair lots, that being said, they're are a bit unreliable as to when they'll arrive, I guess it's such a small item that he fits inbetween the large orders (mainly overseas) for the other products he makes. that being said, he has assured me of better reliability on future orders, so far he's been right by about a week, which in the past was some 6 months. I didn't mention it before but I'm trialling the new Clearies for EB / ED next week, so no more AU ones for the earlier E series cars, don't know pricing yet, will post a pic as soon as I get my car back.
