pay a visit to your local wreckers or give them a call and ask if they have any nf/nl fairlanes as they came out with the clear side indicators

you need high series moulds, plus the clear indicators to go in them.

Yes, the side repeaters are completely different from EF and EL GLi's/XR's. EF Fairmont side repeaters are different still, so what you are after are either NF or NL Fairlane clear lenses. They will set you back $50 from your friendly Ford spare parts bloke. The lenses have small built in orange filters, so you don't have to change the light globe either.

The best way to get the lenses out is to take out the inner guard (not completely, just down the bottom) and stick your hand up behind the lense and push the clips together to get it out. Unlatch the globe holder from the orange lense and simply latch the holder into the new clear one then simply push the new lense into the moulding and bobs you mothers second aunty's cousin.

if you're lazy like me, just wrap a flathead screwdriver in a rag and slide it under the indicator on the side
you'll prol;y break one of the clips, but who cares about orange indicators.

Haha! Thats what i did, i bought my new NL lenses of someone on a cruise way-back-when and wanted them on NOW! So i just levered the old orange ones out with a screwdriver, snapped the clips off them and did the conversion right there on the spot in about 2 minutes and 37 seconds :D .

They can be taken out and not broken, but you have to get behind the guard to do it. Otherwise if you dont want to: a)get your hands dirty, b)break a nail or c)dodge redbacks, then you have to lever them out from the front and nine times out of ten the tabs on them will break.

maybe mine just have a bit of give in them cause they can be lifted without tools just enough you can reach in and push the clip inwards and pops out
