hey guys ive got a mate thats got some 18in furys of a commodore he is geting rid of cheap and i wanna know if i put hub adapters on my car will the wheels fit

cheers guys the ROH Fury's arent multi stud though are they?? eg. do they have 5 holes for the studs or 10?? |

just get them redrilled. alot safer than hub adapters. and legal too

Getting them redrilled is not going the change the fact that Commonwhores have a different offset to Falcons. That's what hub adaptors are used for. And just so you know, hub adaptors really aren't unsafe if they are done properly. Illegal yes, but unsafe they are not. As long as the hub adaptors themselves are lock-tighted on and centralised then you will have no problems whatsoever. Except maybe getting a RWC

That's what I mean. In theory people have found things wrong with them, thus they are illegal. But I nor the people at WheelWorx have ever heard of someone having problems with them when they are fitted properly. The only problem is when the hub adaptor is not centralised properly or the nuts work loose from not being locktighted on. You will always feel a very noticeable vibration if this happens.

The stupid thing about adaptors is they don't have approval to be used on a street car but it is legal to use them on a serious curcuit racer according to CAMS and other racing fraternities.

I'm running adaptors (were on the car when I purchased it) and have had no problems with them, even breezed through a RWC without a mention of them.
That said though, my wheels are removed every weekend to be cleaned and I check the adaptors are tightened properly each time, probably the reason I've had no problems.

hey guys thank for all the great asnwers the wheels are anz fury's there aftermarket wheels. could i use spacers or would i have to get adapters and i rang one place the tyre factory and there said $400 a set but i only want two coz i only got two anywhere else in melb i could get two from

Also need to find out how much for re-drilling as well ... as mentioned above ... and if at all it can be done ... as the different PCD (Stud pattern) can cause all sorts of headaches too.
Best off looking for wheels that are made to fit Falcons ... cos in the end ... it'll cost you more to get these wheels modified to fit than it is to find the correct wheel.

I'm pretty sure tempe tyres can organise hub adapters from pre-au to different offset and stud pattern.
As when I got mine he asked what wheel type I wanted them to suit, I said AU onwards. But the fact that he asked that leads me to wonder if maybe they do others, e.g. if you want commodore wheels which have a different stud pattern and offset. |
