The EF/EL has a Ford logo on the steering wheel.

Does Ford make any badges in this size at all?

this looks really interesting

twirqurky have u ever wondering WHY ford didn't put a badge there?

this is because underneath that part is the airbag. I dont know about you but i dont think i would want a ford badge (or any badge for that matter) flying at my face at around 80kmph IF i have a crash and the airbag deployes.

yeha but i bet that the split for the airbag will be just below the badge and then this will send the badge into the eindscreen. the split on the EF/EL is right through the middle of the ford logo

Meh I firstly dont intend to crash my car, therefore no airbag deployment. Anywayz if it did deploy then think about it the cover doesnt fly off sepereately if it is elevated up and then the airbag comes out, so its no hassle.

If the badge were going to fly at your face when the airbag deploys, then the entire plastic part would also fly at your face. I see nothing wrong with it really, as long as you stick it on properly so that it stays on one half of the airbag cover and doesn't try to stick to both.

Oh, and airbags deploy at about about 250km/h, not 80km/h

Besides, isn't the airbag cover hinged so in the event of a deployment it comes down (or up) but stays attached to the column? If it didn't you'd have a problem with it breaking the very thing it was meant to protect due to the cover flying right into the face of the occupant at quite a rate of knots ;)

Try and find a place that does laser cutting or plasma cutting.

They'll be expensive due to the setup fee, but they'll do whatever you want. I'm trying to convince the manager @ work to get a plasma cutter. It'll only be standard definition, but it should be good enough for doing badges.

If I get my way, I'll post in here since I'll be able to design and cut custom badges.

All you need then it to get it plated and some dbl sided sticky and you've got yourself a badge.

EDIT: The plasma cutter I might be getting (I say I cause it's a family company and I'm 2 IC) has extremely powerful and cheap software that a lot of after market laser/plasma cutters don't have, or you need to spend $20,000+ just on the program and hardware to do the same job. Anyway, this plasma cutter I might be getting is capable of just cutting an object out of material from a scanned image. The software converts the image into cad for you. You might be able to find a plasm/laser cutter with that capability aswell.
How about a specially designed fordmads badge in the same shape as the genuine ford badges? Would be very unique.
