Hi Guys, finally finished the custom trailer for my Super Pursuit.
There was a big bare space behind the wheels so after a lot of consultation we have put in some rotors and brake calipers. Had approached a few people to see if they could do it for me, but it was categorised in the too hard basket. The rotor and brakes are only cosmetic but a lot of work went into the fitment of them. The trailer also has full LED tailgate brake lights. Instead of checker plate all of the metal fabrication on the front of the trailer is done in embossed stainless steel. Too many images to put up here to you can view all of the images on my Super Pursuit website. www.superpursuit.info/trailer.htm Ciao - James

Very nice! And very tidy too! The only thing i can see going on with it is its leaning downhill slightly at the front, but once theres some weight in it that should be sweet too! Definately some effort gone into that for sure. Who did most of the fabrication work? And what sort of cost were you looking at?

hey thats f**k wicked!
but im with smoke.. the rotors will rust up after water gets on them since u have calipers and i pressum pads on there it would not take much work to use a caravan style mc on the fron of the trailer hooked up so when u break the forward inertio activates the caravan mc and the brakes on the trailer as a added bonus ther is less work needed for the utes brakes!

Thanks for the comments guys, the rotors rusting up could be a problem and will see what happens down the track.
I do have brake pads on them and there is not much pressure being applied to the rotors, hope that this will keep a lot of the rust off - if not will have to work out some idea for it later. Washed the trailer yesterday and no sign of rust on it as yet. When I wash the car rust is on the rotors within half an hour. As for the trailer being a bit low in the front, like it like that, gives it a bit more character - could have raised it more but decided not to - Ciao - James

if your brakes dont work, you could glue a pair of worn pads on and clear/paint the rotors to the colour of your choice.

CRC = water dispersant, wd40 type stuff. You may as well set up a hydraulic brake system for the trailer, be easy as, would eliminate the rust. But even with just pads there rubbing the disc you might find the rust stays away for you. So who did the work?

Hmmm like it alot.
Have you thought about having a mini jockey wheel made to look like the mags? Now that would be the crowning glory IMO. |

Thanks for the tips, will wait a couple of weeks and see what happens and if we have to do some adjustments will take on board all that you guys have had to offer. Ciao - James

See post below - some good ideas and when I see what happens re the rust we will then see what we can come up with. Different guys worked on the trailer = A.A. Panel Craft in Bowral did the House of Kolor Paint job. Race Solutions in Penrith did the metal fabrication. Spacs in Canterbury did the rotors and brakes Rims from Wheels Online Designed by myself Ciao - James
