Gday all, im getting a new exhaust system installed this saturday, and i was going to go about cutting out the hole for the exhaust tip tomorrow night, i am thinking of making up a template of the XR bumper exhaust gap, measure it in from the wheel arch so i get it correct and so it lines up properly, and as for tools i have a jigsaw and a dremel available for cutting/filing. Can anyone give me some tips on how to go about this? anything anyone has done that would have done differently?

I was also thinking of masking up where i would be cutting to possibly protect the surrounding paint. good idea?

Cheers.

hey mate, just whack a BF GT bar on the back and go twins :-)

Surely the exhaust shop would be able to cut it for you, that way they can get it to line up exactly where the tip will be

Ended up using a holesaw and a hacksaw blade, then filed the edges up, came up pretty good, just need to get the tips installed now, should be on next week. im tossing up between twin 2.5" tips, or twin 3" tips.. not sure if the 3" will be a bit of an over kill.. lol

Pretty neat job i think, i have seen quite a few dodgy looking cut outs haha.

So what do you think.. 2.5" or 3" tips?

I want this style http://cgi.ebay.com.au/3-TWIN-OUTLET-ST ... 2561922d5e

But in stainless steel.
