how ya going, what are the legalities of cutting holes into your bonnet? ive just bought a new bonnet scoop and was thinking of cutting holes through the bonnet but around the structural part of the bonnet. is this still legal and do you need some sort of filter or mesh to stop dust and crap going through the engine bay? thanks

I know you would like to do so but I would take it to a panel Beater and see how much for him to do it. I am sure he would make the opening rigid enough like the old Phase III ones were.
As far as Legal, I don't think it would be much of an issue if done right, I see a lot of BA's here in NSW with shakers. |

thats what i thought, coz u can cut a hole through the structural part of the bonnet with the shaker kit, but they supply u with a bracket to strengthen it afterwards

In QLD as far as I am aware you can cut holes in your bonnet as long as you dont cut any of the bracing. As long as the scoop is legal and covers the hole then your sweet and should nt have a single problem, but if you dont put the scoop on you will have to have mesh in the holes

dont forget, if oil can get to the screen, they'll put it off the road, thats why the shaker has the rubber seal
