Hi all, I've got a 1988 DA LTD and I'm not really liking the look of the headlights or the front bar as much as when I bought it.

I'm thinking of some headlights like these: Image

Does anyone know where I could locate some like those above? Or the parts required to do it myself?

I'm open to suggestions, too.

As for the front bar, I really want something 'stronger' looking, from the photo here, you can see the bar itself isn't very 'deep'.

I really want something more like a Falcon front bar, I assume the mounts etc are identical on the Fairlane/LTD to the Falcon (of course I know the bonnet etc won't be as fitting)?

I was briefly thinking about getting a Falcon bonnet, and either Falcon front bar and headlights or XR bar and lights. But I'm not sure it it'll look any good in contrast with the rear-end.

Basically I want to 'toughen' the appearance up a bit, but without making it look exactly like a Falcon.
Any suggestions would be great.

What about grafting the bottom half of a later LTD/LANE bumper to your car, as they dont tuck in as sharp, should look good.

You could do that mod to the lights, but you may find clearance issues being that the LTD lights are a little slimmer than falcon i think? So you may have to spend more time finding suitable lenses to fit in.

I did this to my EB, BA headlight conv, ED ghia grill, and i plan to fit an EF Mont bar.

Take some measurements of the inside of your light oneday, then head off to the wreckers to see what will fit.

Andrew.

The guy that did the angel eyes (BMW) lights mod was from FFAU, have you considered opening the headlights and spraying the non-reflective inside black?

How low is your car? i think you might find once you've lowered it the front actually sits really well, anything squarer and you really will be driving a "box car".

Many people graft LTD fronts onto Falcons, I assume you could do the opposite might look good.

Thanks guys, I'll be looking for some suitable light parts today.

I think I'll leave the bars until it's lowered (I might be able to put up with it), plus I plan to spray them body colored soon anyways.

Are there any specific headlight lenses I could look for?

NAfairlane...

I was thinking of something similar, applying some tint to the outside.

But I think your suggestion might look better, thanks.
