My father brought a nice looking 1994 EF falcon the other month got a blueslip and got rego.
The other week a idiot P Plater did a uturn in front of my sister who was driving it and it was hit. AAMI from the other person sent an acessor out and priced it 4grand, - $350 car worth and Rego = just under 3 grand and the car. From what I can see that; Bonnet, Left Guard, Front Bar & Reo, Left Head Lamp, Right Head Lamp, Left Indicator, Right Indicator, Rad. Support Panel, Charcoal Canister, Air Box & Guard Repeater. All up it will cost 1292 in parts. These prices from the local Parts Plus... Scotts so they are over priced. Can I/We get a better price getting only 2nd hand parts from a cheaper wrecker. Or direct from AP international in Sydney.

Its a total loss, less paperwork for the insurance company to deal with a 15yo car.
cop the 4k, buy the car back from them and repair yourself. They'll prolly request 800 off the agreed value. leaving you with 3200ish and a registered repairable car.

As you can see I have gotten prices but I think they are overpriced. As if i went to the orange wreckers or cowra I dare say alot of the parts I could get second hand etc.

Before you go jumping into repairing it your self id check that the radiator support & the skirt arnt to damaged because then you are goin to need a rack to pull it straight.
Or you will have to find a panel shop that will pull it out for you. Once all repairs have been carried out when you go to register it again the workman ship better be spot on as will be on record that has been a right off. You also need receipts for everything.

My father and I will start pulling the front off it this weekend, to asscess the lower half of the rad support and underneath... If they seem undamaged it will be a goer if not spareparts.
