I Soon will be doing a tint job on my NF the current tint on there is totally f**k
i know the darkest legal is 35%
now i know how to do it my self and know how to remove the old tint my self its easy
but im just wondering about the stamp your meant to have to say the % amount
is this needed ?

and would i be able to get away with 30% ??? who reckons i could ?

i did have 20% all round but the cops in this town suck balls. now the rear screen is 20% and the side windows are 35%. all the cops have to do now is use their light transmittance thing and if it's too dark. CANARY

no. because you could put on a fake stamp saying it's 35% when it's really 20%. the cop will just test it if they are iffy on what it is

The thing with tints is, what a pissweak excuse to get a canary! I got done for airhorns once upon a time cause they plods put them down as compressed air whistle, (which they aint - it's a pump not a compressor) but still had to front pits and the rest was not good!  , so now i stick to legal as to get done for tint would really piss me orf!

would the tester be accurate enough to pick up the difference between 30 and 35 ?

According to RTA rego rules, anything august 1994 onward must only have 35%, but can not be rejected unless less than 30% ( this is for light trasmitter callibration error )
Anything before august 94 can be as low as 20%. How ever as we know, what is a rego pass or rejection, is always very different when it comes to a defect.
