I have an Oct 1999 AU Fairmont Wagon. I had a microsleep on the way from Melbourne to Dubbo at 4am on cruise control (115kmh) and woke offroad! I lived, but the front bumper and passenger side headlight are smashed up, the exhaust got ripped off from the rear resonator? back (and the resonator? was punctured), and I got about 20 small dings, dints and scratches around the body.

So it is time to bring out the wish list and bankcard and get it all done. I just dont have the time to do it all myself.

Wishlist:
Replace the bumper(painted) and passenger headlight, clean up the minor scratches and dints, tint the windows, convert it to pure LPG, fit a new exhaust system with extractors and have the chip performance flashed (for LPG).

Any suggestions on well priced places in Melbourne to get this all done?

Isn't it going to work out cheaper and easier to just get a new car?

By the sounds of it you're gunna need to replace most panels and have them re-sprayed to fix all the scratches on the non-dented ones..

Plus if you factor in another bar, lights, an exhaust and the massive amount of time you won't be able to use your car for...

So far the car has cost me nothing (purchased it for only $3100!), and it is otherwise in top condition - plus I am kinda attached to it..........

Plus the damage is fairly minor. It goes through zero oil, and easily gets 8l/100km economy on the open road.

Fair enough. When you get attached, that's it!
