G'day all,
Hopeful someone can assist me with this curly one. Parked my car at a shopping centre and some ahole had deliberately moved the door mirror fully forward. I placed it back into position , however when looking into this mirror for traffic etc the mirror gives me a shakey image and seems to vibrate. I take it this is not normal as the passenger side door mirror is perfect. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks |

Bit of blu tac or something similar in the corner to wedge the glass?

The driver side mirror on my EL does the same thing . I've put a heavy cable tie around where the top part of the mirror pivots on the bottom and it seems to have fixed it (will buy a new one , one day
 ) .

Wow,
Must be a common problem, I had some type of broken steel spring clip on mine, I thinkl I made the mongrel worse....looks like a wreckers job again....I hope there will be a good one around somewhere. |

Mine was fine until I let my sister back my car into the car port
. You can buy them new on eBay and I don't think they're all the expensive either .

Yeah I might check ebay and see what I can find, I think AU series should be interchangeable with other models. Cheers |

Common as!
the cheapest way is (as mentioned) a bit of bluetac in one corner and hey presto!! not too much or it'll look like you spat out your chewing gum!

Yeah I could try bluetac as mentioned, will that cause a problem if one has to reposition / move the window to a slightly different angle?

hey mate, yeah it would stop you but thats the point is to hold the glass in place to stop it moving/vibrating. I guess you would remove blu tac, adjust mirror put blue tac back

bondy99 wrote: Ok, no problems, thanks to all the friendly tips here's another tip i actually used... you know when you buy wiper blades, sometimes they are a bit too long so ya have to cut them to size... the remaining bit is perfect for the fact that it's shaped like a wedge and being rubber, it fits perfectly in the gap.. the best part of that is also that if you need to adjust the mirror, it's easy to put it back on and there's no sticky residue.... cheers!
