Is it possible to fit the cornering lamps as driving lights and run them to my rear wiper switch (in my sedan)? |

I had this done to my Fairmont years ago but I had them wired to the parkers instead of the wiper switch as you propose. Believe it or not they actually do make a difference as they light up the side of the road quite well.

Yes, its possible to wire it onto an on/off switch, not a demister switch as they only activate for X amount of time..
And yes they look and work well - just realise they are not spotlights like found on ss n xr these days.

The trouble with cornering lamps is the bulk of the light is shined sideways.
Check out my gallery for driving lights in brake ducts.

dylan - those lights won't fit into your bumper anyways! they only fit into fairmont & aboves!
look at some others mate - i've got Hella Comet FF-50's in my brake duct vents - i'll get you some photos if you like

Don't all EF bumpers have the brake duct holes where the lights can go? Or is there something special about the Fairmont/Fairlane bumpers?

yeah they do, but they're a different shape - the EF Gli/XR/Futura ones are more recessed back into the bumper than the fairmont ones - hence why they won't fit. plus they're s**t lights if you're looking for 'drive' lights anyways - best off going for something with some more power

You just have to run em in series off the parkers, pretty easy to wire up

Definately the way to go. There's a set on ebay at the moment if someones interested. Pretty rare to get them cheap as they are about $160-$170 brand new from Ford. |
