How hard is it to fix driving lights to the front bumper of the ef fairmont, as in the ghia version?

I wouldn't mount them onto the bar itself.
Get a Unibar from one of the auto parts places ... would have to be the easier way of mounting driving lights. My driving lights were too large to fit on one of these Unibars ... so i put a nudge bar on the ute.

i assume he means the turning lamps as fitted to the Fairlanes, not driving lights like your ute?

Ahh ... I should have realised what he was on about.
Terminology got me confused a little. If he had mentioned turning lamps ... I would have known straight away.

Yeh he means the Fairlane Cornering Lamps which are NOT driving lights.

well i actually meand riving lights, in place where the cornering lamps are. Cutting the little bar that goes across and putting in some driving lights. Its no wonder people dont like to place questions on here with those type of responses, it was a simple questions, deserving of an answer that would assist, ie: asking for the meaning of what you are saying, the initial post was done in a hurry, so I can now clarigy a little further, but based on some response received, I dont think i'll bother asking any more questions!

Well it would be interesting to buy cornering lamps and then modify them to use them as a brack to hold some small driving lamps... would that be possible? That way it wouild look factory but give out better light... Like the little oval real bright ones you can get. |

I recently bought a set of fog lights for the ute to accommodate a small section in the front bar that many other lights didn't fit. A lot of their lights can be bought in either fog or driving configuration ... it depends on which model you choose to buy ... I wonder if the Comet FF200 series (pretty much the same as the BA XR fog light) will fit behind the later E-series front bar. I got myself the Comet FF75's

If you wanted to uset he genuine lights and wire them up to be driving lights instead or turning lights you may have some troubles as they are angled outwards not straight.
You shouldn't have too much trouble finding something to fit. Best bet is to proably get in there and measure how much room you have and have a look at a few auto shops and see what they have and the dimensions of the lights they can get.

Thanks for the good info, am just looking to see what can be done without making a mounting bracket that sticks out the front of the bumber. I can measure and see what will fit.
There was no intention to upset anyone, and it just seems to me that when a question is asked, instead of asking for more info, it just doesnt seem like there is any good help, but as mentioned will filter through the crap to get the good tips.
