Hi!
Just to throw one more question into this thread, I have a El ghia as well, but its got that massive gas tank in the boot and the xr skirting around it. The exhaust hits things already when the back is fully loaded going over humps, im not sure if its hitting the ground, floorpan or the diff, but the muffler certainly is low. but i'm about to put 18" on the car. I measured that if I went superlows, the car would be 2in lower, but by putting 18's on it, it would only be 1in approx. lower than it being on standard height on stock alloys. thanks for your guys opinions, this site is just a gold mine of knowledge!. (its also very addictive~!) |

(its also very addictive~!) Hey dude. i got a gas tank in the boot of mine, and with 18s and king lows in it. When i put the spings in, with the shortened shocks, the rear dropped around 1 1/2 - 2 inches and the front barely dropped at all. maybe 10mm max in the front. wouldve been different with heavy dutys in the back though

what you might find with the gas tank in the boot is that, with standard strength springs, is that the rear of the car will drop more than the standard lows and the front might not drop as much. well, thats what happened with me anyways. i'm going to put some supers in the front next week so hopefully that will sit right where i want it.

STAGE 1 in my sig is pretty nice, fairly flat, predictable and awesome to drive and slide.
Much more control and safer than stock. |

oh and my car sits lower than htg 345mm and 350mm (king spring superlows).
From centre of wheel to the steel gaurd, I just measured its a low 325mm at front and 320mm at the back. (back has extra weight being 2 subs, boxes) but looking sideon the car looks level.
