Hi all,

I have some clearance issues and heating issues under my bonnet, i need a scoop that will cover most of the middle of the bonnet (using -12AN fittings for a custom catch can which is causing clearance issues)

my problem is, i DONT want to mould fibreglass to the metal bonnet, so i want a scoop that looks nice and fits on top of my bonnet. Nothing over the top i still want it to look a little subtle.

Show me some pictures of what you have and or Recommend!
the scoops that i like are mostly for commodores:

LOL i dont like the look at all of the EB or EL GT. yeah apart from the BA bulge and GT scoops there is nothing really out there for the falcon.

There is a scoop from Blitz kits on the gold coast that is a copy of a Toyota corolla import that I have seen on a black v8 EB/ED. I have the same scoop but I have it on an EL

Here is a pic of the scoop as I got it

This is a pic of it on the EB I mentioned

No I didnt mod it on my EL. I have moulded mine onto the bonnet now as well. Size wise its almost 600mm front to back and 550mm side to side

I reckon it looks a little bit cheap to be honest...
What about a WRX scoop? Haha

Or get a hornet GT shaker?

i am not a fan of a scoop but i 'thought' i didnt have a choice.

I have found a -12an 120 degree fitting that has a very low profile bend, if this clears then i will raise the bonnet from the back and maybe even cut out the skin off the bonnet on top of the turbo to allow some heat to escape.

I don't know if you have access to boostedfalcon, but a bloke on there called Rollin cut vents in his bonnet which i actually thought looked quite good!
Only pic i could find of them without searching through his whole thread:

Hope he doesn't mind..

My bonnet would clear it I think.

Or how about this sort of scoop, XW? but in the middle?

lukeee, those vents look alright, how hard would that be to do? also, if you cut the shape out , would you have to re-inforce underneath the bonnet?

yeah i saw Rollin's bonnet, wit ha bit mroe precision i think thats a really good idea.

Benj, i thought the XW scoop had the opening on a bit of an angle??

i have spaced the bonnet at the back a little which has improved things slightly from a heat perspective... my bonnet is so dented now its not funny from that stupid -12 fitting (i dont knwo why the previosu owner thought -12 was a good size for catch can fittings but its there) will sort out my tune and look at my scoop options when im ready to do it.

thanks all!
