I find I have blind spots with the external mirrors on my EA no matter how i adjust them.
Is it possible to fit later model mirrors, EF EL whatever, and if they do fit do they overcome the blind spot drama?
I've been told that they are slightly different in the mounting, if so can they be fitted with some modification?

all you need to do is drill 2 holes and on they go. if you go for ef2 or el lh mirror is has a curved glass to overcome blindspots. remeber they are all electric on ef & l's so if you dont have electric ea ones you will need to do some wiring.

Thanks XR8, I had a feeling the difference was minor but the wiring might be a bit of a test.
Out with a wiring diagram i guess

Even though they don't look the part, I have 2 round spot mirrors on the door mirrors. Only 99c from Supercheap. They are not a good indication of distance but if you can see something in the spot and nothing in the main mirror then you know that there is something in your blind spot.

This is true!
But still, EA-D mirrors to EF-EL mirrors is a cosmetic mod.

If you have got an EB or ED i believe the EF mirrors just plug in and work. makes it an easy conversion and only $150 for a pair of mirrors.

The EF-EL mirros bolt straight on if you have power mirrors they plug into existing wiring the plugs are the same. My neighbour put EF mirrors on his EB

The plug is not the same between EA and EF/EL they need to be changed, I did this mod on my EA. wiring is the same just not the plug. Also need to change the weather seal at the bottom of the window after changing the mirrors, as they wont match.

Not really EA mirrors don't swing in when hit, the back covers bend and pop off out of place. EF/EL mirrors are designed to fold in and are a far stronger.
