Hey people i wasnt sure where to put this question but im just wonderin how to tell the difference between a standard falcon and a xr8 in the eb series???
it has a xr8 sticker but yeah...not sure is there any other ways of tellin? cheers |

The XR8 will have a V8....
LOL, but seriously, power front windows, "sporty" trim, cluster with the extra gauges, and if your iffy on said car, you can check the numbers on the build plate. Not sure what they are, but certainly someone else will know this and soon post.

the best way is to call ford and give them the vin number and the will tell you what it is.
eb xr8 is a s pack with xr8 sticker under the s badge on the boot.. |

I've owned one previously which had power windows front and back. Was the EBxr8 available with manual windows front and back? (the one I am looking at has manual windows front and back) I haven't had the chance to check the VIN with a ford dealer yet but it is something I will be doing. In the mean time any info on the windows would be appreciated. Michael |

afaik the eb and ed xr6 and xr8 have wind up windows from factory..

my old xr8 had manual windows,abs and ac apart from that nothink else just a base model...

I had an early 92 built SXR8, no quad headlights
It had a/c, pwr windows, pwr arial, sports cluster, abs, tow pack option, 15'' alloys, different interior trim and premium sound system that consisted of a six stacker cd player located in the boot bolted to the parcel try. Factory amplifier, head unit and sub woofer which i think was 8''(i cant remember). It seems i got an all options sorta deal there and i was the fourth owner, i still have all these items i stripped before the xr8 went to heaven. Btw my current Fairmont doesnt have premium sound hm.. but it has climate control which the xr8 didnt...

Just a bit of a grave dig, as i've recently picked up 2 EB xr8's, one series 1 & 1 series 2.
Series 1 has manual windows, 15" alloys, A/C, 5 speed manual, LSD, Xr8 bootlid spoiler, Xr8 seats & door trims, Xr8 badge, that's about it. Series 2 has manual windows, 15" alloys, A/C, 5 speed manual, LSD, ABS, Xr8 bootlid spoiler, Xr8 badge. It's been suggested to me it's not a Xr8 due to the V8 5.0 badges on the front guards, but it has the right rims, bootlid spoiler, right 3.45 LSD, right seats & door trims. Right cluster, yada yada. I should check the Vin's with Ford - do they charge to give you the info? They charged me $10 for a stereo code for a ED GLI not long ago... Cheers ToranaGuy

I remember the print media made a big thing when the XR8 came standard with air-con!

the eb xr8 from memory has the red v8 50l badge on the guard, and it would have had falcon s on the garnish with a white decal underneath that said xr8..
the xr8 guard badges were not untill ed.. so anything before ed was known as an s xr8.. |

Also, 3.45 LSD is wrong for an EB XR8, should be a 3.27
