Hi Guys,
As you can see in the pics my old girl has some rust. Reason I'm posting this is to find out if there is anyone on the site that does backyard rust repair, as panel beaters are way to expensive. Ideally I'd like to help in anyway possible with the process so I can hopefully learn a thing or two. When I say rust repair I mean replacing the Sill panel and cutting out rear section of rust and welding a plate in its place. I'm not looking for a temp bog up fix as I'm keeping the car. I would love nothing more than to learn how to do this myself, but don't have the room as I live in a unit and lack the necessary tools and knowledge to complete the task. I'd be looking at doing a welders course and getting tools later on but need this fixed in the near future. I will of course pay for the repairs so a rough cost of what it would cost me would be great. I'd be looking at getting it started in a month or two. Please let me know if this is the wrong section to post this. Regards, Steve.

How much do you love this car?
Have you had a price from a rust repairer/panel beater? |

Actually, from a repairer, that is pretty fair for what I can see. Do you have access to another car/panels? Where are you located? |

Oh ok, I never thought it would be that much money to have an outer sill and small section on the rear repaired. I don't have access to other cars I can cut panels off but know a website to order new sill panels from for $80 ea. I'm located in Parramatta mate.

Was that price for just the rust repair or was that finished and in colour?
Problem with rust repair is you can guarantee it will be much nastier then what it appears once you open it up. They don't call it cancer for nothing..............

Based on that fact my Mum is the best around! |

Well from the look of the outside, it will look pretty nasty on the inside I'm now guessing. No I don't think that included painting.
