They don't make clear tail lights for the EF/ELs because the stock ones already look good as they are. The only other person who has different tail lights that actually look good is MRE-50L. He made them himself and it looks good on the gun metal grey coloured car. Have a look in the garage section for his build up. Yes, they do mate. I bought mine through Autobarn and am yet to be pulled over for them, so I doubt they are illegal. What I was meant to say was, they don't make many clear tail lights for EF/ELs...stupid missing word. Stock ones are good anyway so why bother with clear lights. Do the ones you bought from Autobarn look the same as the ones from the ebay link? If it's altezza lights with the red reflectors, then they are legal, if it's the plain white ones without red reflectors, then they are considered illegal. Yeah those would be illegal because the reflectors on the tail lights are not ADR approved red reflectors. {USERNAME} wrote: The law in most states is that you need 2 ADR approved red reflectors on the back of your car. If clear taillights were illegal regardless, the 2009 Mazda 3's are all illegal as they have the red reflectors on the back bumper and clear lights.. so does one of the newish commodores and several other models. I went and bought two ADR approved reflectors from supacheap and put them on the bumper until I do my graft job with a BA XR bumper lower at which time I'll embed some mazda 3 bumper reflectors into the bar. cheers Frnak Thanks for the clarification frankieh, but I would have assumed a person willing to change their rear tail lights to something "better" wasn't going to stick extra "uglier" red reflectors on the rear of the car. also did you spell your name wrong Frank?

That is not legal as you do not have any adr approved red reflectors on the back.
Get a couple from supercheap and you'll be good to go. |

Sorry but IMO that'll just look ugly, part of the reason I've opted for the clear ones is I think they look awesome. Haven't been pulled over in my two years on the road. Not to say I won't, either. http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online ... ?pid=12005 Where would I stick them, just out of curiosity. |

Those are the same ones I have, I put them quite low so not obvious.. but like I said, only temp till I recess some into my back bar properly.
If those parking lights were not on, you'd not see any real red in the lights at all. |
