Can someone tell me, are these legal or illegal to fit to a registered car.

No.

However if you can open them up and fit a red reflector inside, then it 'might' be legal

They are legal in Victoria. But to keep them legal you need to change the globes every couple of weeks. These lights also have a reflector in them which is another requirement however it is not red but is still reflective. Howecer im under the impression that laws differ from state to state and also keep in mind that your insurance may be void if they choose not to aprove these lights.

Nooo, theyre arent legal as been stated.

ADRs are AUS WIDE

just open them up.. hot glue gun a red reflector inside.. put back together.. problem solved...

the clear tal lights can look good and bad... depending highly on whether you have other exterior mods.. and pending the colour of your car..

No one has actually said if they are legal in NSW. Any one know? I have seen later model Falcons with them but they still look "red" where they should be read - they are not entirely clear. These Altezza ones are entirely clear, right?

They are morally illegal for the pure fact that they dont belong on falcons but on Civics and Commodores

Why don't you fit some EF tail lights to your EL . I don't know why ford put the good looking tail lights on the Fairmonts, Ghia's but gave all the other EL's s**t orange tail lights.

I just did that - took off the crap orange lights and put EFs on - they look awesome. The std EL lights look like total she-ite in comparison.
