I thought that the EF/EL and the NF/NL had different repeaters, meaning that both the moulding and the repeater had to be swapped. Is this true, or am I miles off??

correct!

for everyones reference (lol from memory! ):

-High-series mouldings (EL/NL Fairmonts & Ghia's):

Image

-Pov-pack mouldings (EF/EL Gli/Futura/XR & EF Fairmont & Ghia's):

Image

so, as you can see class, 2 very different mouldings! the 2nd ones (i.e. the most common ones) are NOT, i repeat, NOT sold by ford in a clear variety - only in aftermarket copies @ around $70 the pair, when available!

let me make it clear (no pun intended!)

there are NO clear side indicators made by ford that will fit the stock EF side indicators! :!:

i.e. those indicators shown in the second picture (the one below the first!) are aftermarket copies and that is the only clear side indicator available in that shape!

LOL ... settle down fraser.

I was looking for clear ones about 4 months ago and i got the whole "Ill email you when i get some" reply... As for the ford spare ones, the fairlane ones (high series repeaters) are round on BOTH SIDES whereas the repro ones (and stock ones) for falcons are FLAT ON ONE SIDE AND ROUND ON THE OTHER... The falcon ones follow the shape of the falcon strips down the doors.

The guy at ford spares pulled some of the fairlane ones out for me and tried them on my car. They will and do fit but they look very out of place with the skirting on the side of the car.

Best bet is to email the guy who does the repro ones and put some pressure on him ... as the more pressure we put on him, the more pressure he is likely to put on the people who manufacture them!

Cheers
David

EDIT: Sh*thouse spelling

That pic is a sample image that the guy sent me when i emailed him about gettin them a while ago. I think he said that it is his missus car...

Email ratxr8@hotmail.com about them.

We should probably do a group buy or something as well to try and get the price down a little bit...

i'm pretty sure the guy already does them in batches anyway.
i doubt you'd get the price down much.
unfortunately you have to pay a premium for custom parts.
but its worth it!
