Got prices quoted for a stock EF spoiler.

400 painted and fitted
320 painted
100 unpainted but primed.

Wondering how hard is it to install an EF stock spoiler?

its a peice of piss if you know where all the bolts go mot hard tho at all, set of wheel ramps is needed so u can get under the front tho, well easier anyway

very easy lad just undo all the screws and theres about 4 bolts at the front from memory

haha its probably just as easy im soon to replace my rear bumper so i will soon find out! cant be any harder than the front id expect

are you trying not to answer his question right? He's not talking about a bumper, wth bolts and screws. He's talking about drilling into his boot and adding on a wing. How is that so hard to understand? lol..

ah boot spoiler is a peice of piss hehe, should find the bolts on the otherside of the boot and uncrew em, i assumed u were talkin about front spoiler

hang on edit he doesnt have one already hehehe id u can get the right instructions ie a template so u know where to drill shouldnt be to ard at all for an extra 80 bucks might be worth it to get it done, if they f**k it up they have to fix it, u f**k it up u have to buy a whole new bootlid

btw i think those paint prices are fairly hight i got quoted 250 to do my front skirt and front bar

Spoiler is a good price, paint prices are way over the top IMHO.
Fitting to a fresh (no spoiler existing) bootlid is a little harder than fitting to a bootlid with a pre existing spoiler; Id personally get it done by a pro as i was shocked i ended up putting mine one when i swapped spoilers!

And yes, i dunno where those guys got bumpers n kits from lol, i understood it as a bootlid spoiler thu-out the entire thread; what the?!

btw: fitting shouldnt cost $80, get a few quotes..

nah, tis easy to do yourself on a boot lid that has not had a spoiler before.

A tip for you: Get your spoiler and put all the screws into it.

Now mark the ends of the screws with a texta, artliner whatever.

On your bootlid put some masking tape (the easy stuff that comes off - ie not gaffa ) where approx the spoiler holes are going to go. Put about three layers on so it is thick and soft

Now put your spoiler on and get it lined up. Use a ruler to measure it and make sure it is even and central...

Now just push the spoiler down and the screws will make an indentation into your masking tape.

Remove, drill and fit!

The tape also helps stop the bit from slipping.

This is the same method I used to put mine on. Take your time and you'll do a good job and be very pleased withyour self. I got mine spot on first time.

The screws are only thin anyway so if you dill a hole a tad bigger it gives you a bit of room to move it around. This si the same method people use to fit them (without a template) so the spoiler man told me when I went to buy mine.

My spoiler came with guides to help line the holes up; you sit them in the screw holes then take the guides to the bootlid when in correct position and then lift spoiler leaving guides on the bootlid; then dril down the middle of the guides, easy.
The hardest part is proberly working out exactly where you want the spoiler to sit, ive noticed some xr6's spoilers are positioned further back that others..
