to change the park light there is a screw when you open the bonnet in the top corner - under the black protective strip. once thats undone, just pull the bastard out! easy as!

cougar: as you have an EL Fairmont, you'll also need a new bonnet as well - you'll need either the EF/EL XR bonnet (with scoops) or just the stock EF Gli/Futura bonnet - as the fairmont ones don't fit with the XR front end.

Thanks Uglybob

If u have a EF XR front and wish to change to EL XR front... u need the reinforcement bar that bolts the bumper to the car from a eL... u cant just pick up a EL XR bar without the bar behind it... the EF ones dont fit... as me and fraser found out when doin his EL XR conversion

the EF EL XR reo's are the same
u cant use the reo of a std bar cause the reo in the XR bar has been modded/ground away to suit the twin lights

EF and EL front bar reo,s are all the same falcon,XR,fairmont fairlane ect.
the difference with the xr one is 2 supports to hold the top of the bar in the center. the irons are different but interchange as they bolt into different holes in the front of the rails. ef ones are N.L.A from ford and replaced with EL ones.

you sure it hasnt been changed. i have never seen a EF with a EL front bar fitted from factory. what bonnet vents does it have?? i would think this car has been hit in the front B4 and repaired with later model parts

i have seen some ef for sale and stuff that look pretty stock but have an EL front bar, possibly they were in a crash or it is possible that some of the late ones came out with the EL xr bar. ford have done this kind of thing abit in the past so it wouldn suprise me if his was the case at all

Thats good because I like it when they use the better bits.
