I did I similar thing yet much simpler when I put the XE front bar on my XD.

To get the wheel arch contour right, my old man and I carved out a wedge-shaped fillet with a dremel about 1 inch back from the arch, then layed the edge back at a different angle. Not sure though if the side profile of the GT bar would allow this though...

You can also get a fibreglass body-filler that is tougher than bog and should bind really well to bumpers. It sets to metallic strength - I used it to patch some panel holes rather than welding them up - no heat warp on delicate areas. That would fill any bumper holes pretty well I would imagine.

What is the ripple in the bar under the bonnet grill? Is it just way it sits or the way the pics make it look. As for the height, that is why I screwed mine together and test fitted before I went the whole hog and bonded them together. When I tested mine I could see that she was tooooo low and raised it about 20mm, made a lot of difference to the clearance and diddn't change to look much at all. She is looking great, you have done very well. Now the fun as you put it, bogging and sanding and bogging and sanding and fussing LOL. Again well done.

was up until 2 weeks ago still attached to another fairmont bonnet i have... its now pulled off that bonnet and raedy to be reserected on a new bonnet... could compliment the bar nicely..

nah hyena... only cherrybrook... no further west/east/north/south...

-thanks for the tip muzzlecar.. will look into that..

paulc... yeah, strangely apeared when i installed the bar... when it comes off i will check to see whats causing that and try to fix that..

horis.. my sis loves the modeling stuff..(around cars)... so she'd probably be in it...

gaz.. thanks for the offe but i politely turn down your offer.. you might create a "stir" in many a guys pants here and might have too many guys here "come outa the closet"..
