it is possible, me and a few others have done it. you will also need the radiator support off an ef/el to replace the old one because the locking for the bonnet is setup different. you don't need ef/el doors because the guards line up with the old doors perfectly. so basically YES it is possible, i have got an el gli front on it and it gets a heap of attention when driving because they see the front then they see the back then they just gotta have a second look at it.

What jerrytorry said is correct, but just to be clear, changing the front radiator support requires a fair bit of welding and some modifying, and is not just a bolt on off job.

yea forgot to mention about the welding.
you could also see smithykicks85 build thread, he has done the same thing but he has got an xr front. if you just want it done and cheap for now, just get a gli front. probably off an ef so that you don't have to get a new bonnet when you get the xr front. all you would need to change if you want to change from ef gli to xr, is xr front bumper, xr twin headlights and xr blinkers or you could just modify the standard blinkers by rounding off the point so they will fit the xr bumper
