Hey guy,
Looking at getting some tyres for my Ef2 Fairmont Ghia. I currently have 205 r15s on it at the moment. The guy at the tyre shop said they are too small for it? Is this correct? Ca someone tell me the factory size? OR what I should be running? Cheers.

205/65 R15 is the correct size assuming you have the standard 15" Fairmont wheels.

Forgot to mention, There should be a tyre placard sticker on the inside of the drivers door just above the check strap (Thats where it is on my EL Fairmont). Also the glovebox book will have details of what tyres are suited to your vehicle.

Mate I found this site a few months ago and it is great to compare tyre and wheel sizes. I have used it to get the right size profile tyres in 19inch to replace the original 17 inch on my Fairlane and I also did the same with the ute. Give it a go. I did have 16's on the XH ute but I found that the 225-50 x 16 were a bit low and the engine seemed to be revving higher at 100k's than it should have. The 18's are great, dropped the revs by about 200 to 250 and is so close to being the correct speedo reading that I don't have any issues. Good luck.
